Power Outage Protection for Your Smart Valve

The EcoNet Controls BB3K Battery Backup is an essential fail-safe add-on for your Bulldog Water Shutoff System. It acts as an inline Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), ensuring your valve robot remains powered and ready to act even if the electricity goes out.

In Canada, power outages often occur during severe storms—the exact moment when the risk of basement flooding or pipe freezing is highest. With the BB3K, your Bulldog system stays on guard, providing up to 24 hours of standby power to shut off the water if a leak is detected.

Why You Need This

⚠️ Standard Valves Stop Working When Power Fails
The Bulldog Valve Robot plugs into a wall outlet. Without this backup battery, a power outage renders the motor dead. If a pipe bursts during a blackout, the valve cannot close. The BB3K bridges this gap.

Key Features

  • Automatic Recharging: Installs inline between your wall outlet and the Bulldog valve. It charges automatically while power is on and takes over instantly when power is lost.
  • 24+ Hour Runtime: High-capacity 3000mAh Lithium-Ion cells keep the system in "Armed/Standby" mode for over a full day.
  • Plug-and-Play Install: No tools required. It uses standard barrel connectors compatible with all Bulldog power adapters.
  • Universal Compatibility: Works with EVC200 (Z-Wave), EVC300 (Wi-Fi), and EVC400 (Matter) series robots.

Technical Specifications

  • Capacity: 3000mAh (Lithium-Ion)
  • Input/Output: 12V DC (Primary for Valve) / 5V USB (Secondary)
  • Connector Type: Standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm Barrel Jack
  • Dimensions: Compact footprint designed to sit on the floor or shelf near the valve.

Installation Instructions

  1. Unplug the AC power adapter from your Bulldog Valve Robot.
  2. Plug the AC power adapter into the Input port of the BB3K Battery Backup.
  3. Plug the BB3K's attached output cable into the Bulldog Valve Robot.
  4. Ensure the LED indicator on the battery confirms it is charging/active.

FAQ

Will this keep my Wi-Fi running?
No. This battery powers the valve robot so it can mechanically close the pipe. It does not power your Wi-Fi router.
Note: If you have a Bulldog-JW (Wi-Fi) or Matter unit, the offline 433MHz sensors will still talk to the valve and trigger a shutoff locally during an outage, even if the internet is down.

How long does the battery last?
It provides approximately 24 hours of standby time. Actual runtime varies based on how many times the valve is opened/closed during the outage.

Does it need to be replaced?
Like all rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries (similar to a laptop or phone), it has a lifespan of typically 2-4 years depending on operating conditions.
